I’ve had the boring plastic round umbrella base in the past. I wanted to spruce things up on the patio. Heavy duty with an artful design. Only concern is if 30lb will be enough to hold the umbrella from going into orbit??
Good base
Good and sturdy base. Pretty and cast iron looking bottom. Will coordinate well with table and umbrella. Was easy to move to patio - looks great
5 Stars
Perfect umbrella base for my new patio table. The base is heavy but not in the way of feet and it looks beautiful too! It arrived quickly and well packaged. Highly recommend for use with a table umbrella.
Great Value - does the job well
We live on the canal so we are subject to a lot of winds. It was very important that my umbrella base be strong and not topple over with the winds especially if we are not home. This umbrella base does the job. Would recommend to anyone in a similar situation.
Braun and beauty!
It’s very Sturdy! Comes with different size rings to accommodate different umbrella girth’s which is great! It’s well built and very attractive . Lovely to be out in the opening and strong enough to hold my 10 foot umbrella freestanding! It’s a great purchase! I bought a second one!
Umbrella base Equipment malfunction; would not assemble.
We chose this base because of the many positive reviews. The base and shaft are two separate pieces, with shaft having central long, wide screw made to connect to base center. BUT the exposed part of the screw is too short to hold securely AND also out of alignment . . . it would not screw in. We tried lubricating, washing with hot water, scrubbing the threads; we tried to turn it to expose more screw length. NO SUCCESS. The result: a useless heavy base, our umbrella still in its box. Very polite representative said this base is now out of stock; he asked me to choose another; says they plan to send a replacement. It will take another week. ( I'm giving one star because the base had no defects.)
Attractive and good quality
Heavier than expected which will be great in wind. Yet not too heavy to for me (65 years old) to scoot around or lift to move it. Very attractive and good quality. It matches our other bronze umbrella bases and blends in with all our classic outdoor decor.
Looks Good But Doesn't Perform As Well
Our umbrella base holds a nine foot umbrella. It's heavy and very presentable. But, with each strong breeze, over it goes. We have put the leg of a heavy table through one of the holes in the base to keep it from tipping over as much as possible. But we have to fold up the umbrella each time we're done using it so that it doesn't tip over again.
Great Umbrella Base
Plenty heavy without the clunky appearance. I live in an area notorious for afternoon wind and have only had to add weight to the bases once or twice. They work best for a 6'-9' umbrella. Larger wingspan umbrellas will require a heavier base in a breeze (will work in calm conditions or well protected patio). The dsign is very attractive and the finish has held up very well with a slight patina from sprinkler exposure. I would not hesitate to recommend or repurchase.
Too tall for Table
This was too tall for our table so we returned it. Very heavy. I don't really understand why umbrella stands are so expensive, we ended up just using a $$ one that we filled with water and it's more than sufficient. It looks nice, but it's expensive and didn't work for us. I thought there may be something magical about it which is why it cost so much. Nothing magical. Just super heavy.
Lightweight for the price
I was expecting this to be more substantial for the price. I had gotten a cast iron base a few years ago and it was much heavier and of better quality for about the same price. I should have read how heavy it was before I chose to order it. But I had bought two 9-foot umbrellas after having gotten an 11-foot one previously, so these umbrellas are lighter in weight so this will suffice. If you are looking for something to hold a larger umbrella, I suggest you keep looking.
