Great smoker, defective thermometer

Love everything about the smoker but the thermometer was defective. Burned all the food. Contacted Nordic Ware. Supposed to get back to me.

This is the best smoker ive ever had. No joke. I have health problems and this smoker does exactly as advertised indoors or outdoors. My house wasnt smokey but smelled awesome ii have used it almost every day since it was delivered. Has been easy to use and easy to clean

Goodness I LOVE this … and am so glad I bought it. Hot-smoked food in my own kitchen. No longer having to pay through the nose to buy hot-smoked salmon etc. initial impressions upon opening the box were delight. This beast is AMERICAN made, yes! Made in the USA and with that comes a quality that is never matched when stuff is made elsewhere … I avoid stuff made elsewhere whenever I can. My stand mixer, my smoker, USA made … this is beautiful. It’s BIG and beautifully constructed, built to last and although comes with a 5 year guarantee I fully expect it to last at least twice as long, if not forever if you look after it.It’s a gorgeous red which darkens when in use. When the red darkens that’s when you know it’s piping hot and you need your oven gloves. That and the removable high-quality thermometer that you use to get your kettle smoker to premium smoking temperature. It’s so easy, just wait until the dial is between the red …and start your timer to achieve perfectly smoked food.I’ve made hot smoked salmon, rack of ribs, sausages, pork chops and a whole 2kg smoked chicken. Using the smoking time guidelines in the instruction/recipe booklet that is included in the box.It takes around 30 minutes to heat up to optimum smoking temperature on my electric hob … you can use it on gas and more importantly, on a camping stove too. This is part of my emergency kit for power cuts now, which do happen occasionally as I live in rural Scotland.I bought it on sale price, it’s worth full price!! And guess what, you can use it as a steamer … water in the bottom instead of wood chips, food on the rack, lid on … incredibly versatile piece of kit. Buy it, smoke in it, love it … I do and it now lives on top of my hob xx Less

Wow!

I really didn’t have high expectations, given the price and the fact that this is not a full-sized outdoor all-day smoker. But I took a chance anyway because I was not willing to spend hundreds on a smoker that would sit on the patio downstairs might rarely be used. I figured if I could put this one on my stove, it would be far easier to keep an eye on it and I’d have more incentive to use it. When it arrived earlier this week, I was pleased at how substantial and sturdy it is. Last night was my first chance to use it. I made dry-smoked pork ribs using the hickory chips that came with the smoker. All told, it took 15 minutes to set up and heat up and another 75 minutes of smoking time. They turned out as good as any I have had. This morning I went with wet-smoked salmon using the supplied apple wood chips. Absolutely incredible! I was surprised with how easy it was the very first time to get the temperature to stay right in the middle of the suggested range. Both times, I stayed close to the smoker and checked frequently. But once the thermometer needle hit 200°, I turned the heat to low and the needle never budged until I turned off the stove. Cleanup was also surprisingly easy. I had covered the drip pan with aluminum foil for the ribs and had water in it for the salmon. All it took was an hour’s soak in sudsy water and everything washed right off with no scrubbing. Smoker arrived undamaged, but the thermometer was bent and didn't work properly. I had to order a replacement from Nordic Ware.

Great Kettle Smoker

Excellent service, arrived very quickly. The smoker is quite light and easy to assemble, whilst being sturdy enough to feel confident that it won't fall apart after a few uses.

This item was shipped quickly and arrived early. Looks like a great smoker and I am excited for my husband to try it. It is a perfect size for us since we have a limited space but we still wanted to have a smoker without taking up a huge area.

I've used my smoker twice now. Grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue chicken. I taste the smokey outside grilled flavor. It's a bear to clean though. It gets pretty scorched up. BUT...I like the way it cooks. You have to have vent going and windows open. Some smoke does escape. Oh and I bought the extender feature so I can cook two layers at the same time. It was worth it. It saves time.

I absolutely love this little smoker.
