Not worth the money
The directions are an absolute mess while putting this together. I have been assembling furniture for over 20 years, so I was frustrated to find that all of the directions are picture only. Perhaps use a magnifying glass to be sure you have the exact right pieces where they need to be. Once put together, you will find the desk is heavy, but not secure. Which means it feels very unstable when trying to move it. I used the wood glue in all of the dowels, as directed. I also allowed it to sit for 24 hours before moving it. The wood look of this piece will fool someone who has never seen wood before, but only them. Not to say it doesn’t have its own kind of appeal. Only that it absolutely does not look like the real thing. The drawers have a good depth for files. The bar inside can accommodate 2 different file sizes, easily. The stand up mechanism seems to be made well. I placed my laptop on top and began working, and the top of the desk didn’t budge. All in all, this is not worth the price paid or the hassles and time needed to assemble. It has a few redeeming qualities, but not enough for me to recommend.
