Good for clouds

I use this color mostly for clouds. It's okay. I need to learn how to use it more! I read about it on Jane Blundell's website.

Favorite grey

I am obsessed with this color. I was torn between this one and Payne's Blue Gray, which I also love, but this one is so special. It works wonders for shadow shapes and darkening colors without losing saturation or getting muddy, and looks stunning on its own in a heavy wash.

Stellar black

I tried this on a dot card and had to have it so I added it to my Colors of Inspiration set. It's VERY granulated so not the best for a solid black wash, it has a lot of character.

Favorite Blick Purchase Ever, Probably

I researched whether or not I'd really get the most use out of this set since I'm newer to watercolors (but less new with other mediums) and this thing is just so beautiful. The paint is amazing quality, the colors provided give you good mixes, and the Blick price can't be beat ANYWHERE. I love the empty pans you can fill yourself in addition to the provided colors, so I have my own added colors too. I HIGHLY recommend this palette as its very natural and not garish or cartoonish looking.

Love DS paints!

I am looking for some long weekends this Fall. This is a great travel set for mixing. Paints have a beautiful interaction with water. Would buy Daniel Smith paints in any color.

I LOVE this Daniel Smith half pan set!! Prior to this purchase I was using student grade watercolors & I am gobsmacked by the difference. The colors are so much richer and vibrant and go on the paper beautifully. I'm never going back to the lesser grade products.

I am loving my Daniel Smith Half Pan Set. The colors are beautiful and vibrant, plus there is a good variety of colors. I also appreciate the empty metal box. I've ordered some more paints to put in it. You can't have enough watercolors, right?
