Not exactly universal.

This control does NOT have dry contacts for load switching when using 120 or 240 volts. The load relay contacts have incoming line voltage on one side. This is fine for most applications, unless you are working with different voltages. In other words, you can't have the control powered with 120v, and use it to switch a 24v circuit. If you need true dry contact switching, get a Johnson Controls A421 instead.

Temperature Control was easy to install and set up for on off control of the equipment.

Cost effective stands along controller.

Used those as a high-high controller for a wood fired boiler. In the event of a high temp, this drives all zones open to dump temperature. Works great with precise setting. Eliminates the trial and error with the standard 4004 mechanical control.

I hooked it up and the air part works but the heat part won't even light it up

i bought another hoping that the first one was a fluke .it do sent work ether i took it to a furnace and air conditioning company they couldn't get it to work ether .i sent a email to Johnson the manufacturer they never responded.it is a shame your rating system dosent have negative numbers

Electronic temp control.

This is a wonderful device. Keep one in your service truck for repairs. I have personally used on grain dryers, milk tank and after cooler for compressors. It has a easy switch to go from heat to cool displays the temp and has a replaceable probe.
