I wanted a rug similar to a rug I bought 5 years ago from another vendor. They are both Safavieh Heritage collection, Green/Gold. The image on the website looked exactly like the one I had. When I received my new rug, I could not believe the colors of this rug compared to mine. This rug is ugly! It is dark, colors indistinguishable! It looks dirty all over! The quality is what I expected, but the appearance is awful! The first photo shows the dark rug I received on top of the Safavieh Heritage rug I already own. The one on top of it is the one I received and looks nothing like the image on the website. The 2nd & 3rd photos show the Heritage Collection labels on each rug, and they both say GREEN/GOLD color. I am so disappointed with my first & last purchase on this website. Less

Totally pleased with the Safavieh rug especially after vacuuming. The process compared to quality is unbelievable! Definitely a 5*. Safavieh rugs have yet to fail me! The new one just replaced another of their rugs which we have had for 10 yrs. And still looks very good so we are getting it cleaned and putting it in a guest room.

Looks Very Expensive

This rug is very thick, which makes it feel more expensive! I wanted a more vivid green with this beautiful blue as was shown in the picture, but it’s still good. There is a slight odor of mildew but it’s only 3 days since delivery. I’m hoping that will disappear. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. I would purchase again.

Sumptuous and Elegant

Safavieh Handmade Heritage Alexia Traditional Oriental Wool Rug green & Gold 11x15’ What a beautiful and luxurious carpet! Very thick and heavy, colors are muted but not muddy at all. I purchased a basic rug pad at a local home store to add a little cushion. (It still needs to be trimmed, as you can see.). The primary colors are as advertised: soft sage green and maize gold; with accents of lavender, forest green, brown and brick red. I passed the vacuum over the carpet a couple times and it filled the canister, but nothing excessive for a wool rug. I’m extremely happy with the style and quality of this purchase. Thanks Overstock for another great product at a competitive price!

Does not look the way a new rug should

I ordered the rug in the 9’ x 12’ size. It came folded, rather than rolled. As a result, the underside of the rug is deeply creased along the fold lines causing creases and ridges on the topside. Customer service suggested remedies that included renting a steamer, hiring a rug steaming company, bringing it to a professional rug shop or sending it back. I rejected those options since they required making an out-of-pocket expenditure to remedy problems with a new rug or figuring out how to repackage a very heavy rug for shipping. I did try two other options, which were putting heavy books on the creases and/or streaming them with an iron. Neither has yielded satisfactory results. I am sincerely unhappy about having to expend time and energy on this project. Why the rug was not shipped rolled, is a mystery to me. I did not get what I paid for. Less

Safavieh rugs are plush and look high end. Price makes it even more attractive. Have them all thru my home. Shipped perfectly, no folds or wrinkles. The come perfectly rolled on a tube. Only complaint lately, they are shedding more and more. Also, I noticed quite a bit of the loops are cut. They stick up. Doesn't look right. Just noticed this with 2 of the last Safavieh rugs I purchased from you. Otherwise colors are beautiful. They look rich, not "Menards" quality. Even though I love Menards. Not just their rugs!

It is a VERY pretty rug. It complements my decor and finishes off the room, giving it a much more homey feel. The only downside is that I thought beigy colors had a bit more peach to them based on the picture. They don't, but I'm still very happy with it. It was a great price for 100% Wool. I'm more comfortable with natural fibers. Update: March 7, 2019. This rug sheds so badly that it is virtually impossible to vacuum to look clean. Every time I vacuum it more & more of it sheds and it always looks like it needs to be vacuumed. I don't recommend.

Absolutely beautiful rug! I relied heavily on the reviews of others and spent MANY hours doing so before purchasing mine. Some people had pictures in their home which was a GREAT help. One rug I wanted but was out of stock was crossed off my list when I saw a picture. Thank goodness. Quality is superb! I would like to address the many differing opinions about color. I would like to add my two cents worth. This picture is has a light teal, a green, and a soft blue cloth next to the rug. The blanket in the back is a blue/teal. The ball is bright blue The candle is a soft blue and the dove is ivory. I would say this rug is a blue/teal color. You would be able to bring out either color in a room. But if you went to a Crayola box and pulled out the blue crayon, this rug is NOT. The outer edge is NOT an ivory as one person suggested. The red is a great rust color. The green in the rug is a perfect olive green. I have a rust/brown leather couch and matching recliner with a red chair in my living room. The red chair "pops" with the rug.The brown/olive green tile in the walkway is right next to this room.It all works together!! I couldn't be more pleased. The large 8x11 showed up today! Delivery was quick, and the rug was packaged against damage nicely. There was a slight odor I'm assuming from being stored for awhile, but a nice essential oil and water mist eliminated the smell quickly. The rug quality is fantastic! It's soft, thick, plush, and the colors are beautiful. The problem is that the colors are not what I expected. They are listed as blue and beige, but it's not blue. The colors are actually more of a green and beige. Doesn't match the spot I was trying to dress at all, but the rug was at such a great price and is so nice, I've found it a home in a bedroom that works well with the actual rug colors. So, it looks lovely in an unexpected new spot. It worked out this time, but I'm trying to figure a way to eliminate spending money for a specific rug color, and if wrong, having to deal with the hassle of a return or eat the cost to avoid the hassle of a return. Less

Color is nothing close and it SHEDS!

The color is MUCH more dull than in the picture. More blue and dull beige. No warm or gold tones at all. Also the pattern doesn’t match the picture either. Less detail. Also the amount it is shedding is insane! I was expecting some because it was cheap, but it’s almost unusable. I filled up my vacuum five times with fibers and it still is getting fibers all over me and my family. I’ve been coughing with little hairs in my throat. Terrible. I’m hoping their assurances that the shedding is supposed to stop in a few months holds true.
