Don't buy jetted tubs, especially nickel plated

Don't buy jetted nickel plated tubs. Hard water gets into jets and clogs them after one use and they cannot be restored. We have had it for less than 1 year and less than half of the jets work. The nickel plating precludes the use of CLR to clear. Solutions offered by Signature Hardware do not work without causing damage to the tub surface. Banging it with a rubber mallet did not work, nor did vinegar or using a shop vacuum and banging with your fist. I could not get the plastic jet cover off without causing potential damage to the tub surface.

Big, Expensive Mistake!

The tub itself is very nice looking, but if you love to take bath and relax, it is poorly designed. The ends of the tub is straight up and down vertical. It is not comfortably contoured to fit the human back. Also, you have to be extremely careful getting in and out out the tub or you can easily get your foot caught on the extremely high sides of the tub. Additionally, when trying to sit down in the tub, the bottom of the tub is so low compared to the high sides that you could almost dislocate a shoulder trying to lower yourself all the way to meet the bottom of the tub. It needs to be redesigned and replaced for me free of charge.

I remodeled the tub area and shower of my master bathroom and had originally thought of a ceramic tub. Since the bathroom is on the 2nd floor, my contractor said we would need to bring the ceramic tub in through the window...in January...using a forklift! That didn't sound good so I asked what possible alternative nice tub there was...they said they had just installed a copper tub at another home. And I found this one! It's beautiful!

Nickel finish began to come off with first run of tun

Seriously beautiful tub BUT the nickel finish has already started to disappear. We have double filtered well water in our cabin. I ran the water once into the tub and when I dried the inside, the nickel finish wiped off on to my wash cloth. I’m not sure what to do since the plumbing was done for this exact tub. I’m trying to just consider it a natural patina but unless you’re okay with it looking less than perfect from day 1, I would advise against this tub. I’m having trouble adding photos but I will keep trying.

I am IN LOVE with my tub! It looks perfect in my home, which is designed in a modern farmhouse vibe. I splurged for the air feature as well and love that too. The customer service at Build.com was stellar, too!
