This was a replacement for one that failed after 2 years. Like the function, just wish it lasted longer.

Works great. Company should make note in bolder print that the plug needs to be plugged into a 20amp GFCI outlet. The average Joe will just plug it in anywhere thinking it work. Other than that it's bulletproof.

Total failure within an hour

Waste of money. I bought 5, and 3 failed within the first hour.

Useless

NOT waterproof! Which makes this useless, as it needs to be used outdoors to plug in a roof heat cable. Also shuts off when the outdoor temperature reaches 50 degrees - needs to be way lower, like in the upper 30's to reduce expense of operating a heating cable.

Not designed right

It only supplies power for 5 to 10 minutes and shuts off, as the operating parameters are inadequate for it's intended purpose. Major design flaw. Save yourself $20 and just plug in your roof cable as needed.

Heater control unit

These are handy little units, but you must make sure that the outlet isn't much higher than the heater. Remember it is going to be warmer 3ft up the wall than at floor level.

They're only good if they come on.

I bought 2 of them. Neither would come on. I even ran an extension cord into a deep freeze and they wouldn't come on at 10F.

Needs to be waterproof for the application and is not.

Bought this on clearence will let you know how it works in the cold

Multi purpose thermostat

On the packaging, it says it can be used for space heaters. Turn on at 38/39 degrees and turn off at 52/54 degrees. Fair enough range.

Protected well pump

Put it in my well pump house to protect from the great freeze in December 2022. Came on when temps went below 34 and went off at around 49. Kept pipes nice and warm preventing any damage. Thanks frost king.

doesn't switch on at the advertised temperature. I bought a separate thermostat just to be sure. it's 43 degrees in that room and it still hasn't switched on.

Ordered and received 2. One works, the second is defective, does not work. When I visit a Home Depot store, I will return the defective one in exchange for a good one. But having to drive a 150 miles round trip to return an item kind of defeats the purpose of ordering online merchandise.

Quit Working

Bought 4 of these to power 4 different roof heat cables around the house. All appeared to work initially, but failed shortly thereafter. They just stopped energizing. Will be returning to my local HD store.
