Not as described
Was not as described. I needed a down rod that was 7/8" exterior measure in diameter and 3/4" interior measure in diameter. Which is exactly how this was described online. However, when it arrived it was 1" in diameter and didn't fit.
Arrived damaged
Although the Downroad was in a tube the ends were not secured properly. The download broke through both taped ends and both ends were damaged. There should have been plastic ends and strong enough tape to ensure the rod wouldn't break though. Am returning item once replacement arrives so I won't have to make two trips.
Very nice looking piece, unfortunately didn’t match the threading for the “80inch Swell” fan that I bought from the same supplier on here, so I’ll need to return it.

I bought this to put with my old ceiling fan with a new chrome fixture. It was the perfect size and shine. One star off as delivery could've been speedier.

It was exactly what I wanted. There were no issues with the installation. Looks great.
How to connect a downrod 101
First, the downrod needs at least one end with threads to attach to the fan. This downrod was shipped to us and we're ready to install = nope, not going to happen! We were able to send our son to the store and get the right part and return this one, but am glad we had that choice. If I had paid an installer to hang the fan, I would be one upset granny!

This rod was recommended buy to go with the Home Decorators Collection Hanahan 52" galvanized fan on Home Depot's online catalog. This is not accurate as this extension is not threaded and the fan requires a threaded end. The end is too wide to fit in the fan joint. I could not find a 36" threaded galvanized extension on Home Depot so I had to go to another website to find what I needed. Other than that, the extension itself is of quality design.
Love it
The fan looks amazing, This down rod was perfect for my 20 foot ceilings! I hope that customer service will be helpful with replacing the wore that came to me without threads to put it up. I don't know about difficulty installing because I'm building and the electrician hung it. Looks great One of the wires to the blade doesn't have the threading to put it up
