Sturdy! Easy assembly with quality hardware. Exactly what I was looking for - unique open slat type headboard with lower footboard and for a standard box spring. We had issues with first one shipped, wrong headboard and no hardware but Overstock sent a replacement and this one is great. We have not put the 5 slats in yet but they have 2 legs each. So that should hold lots of weight- could not get confirmation in weight capacity from even the Intercon manufacturer so took chance on that. With a box spring and good strong slats hoping we have no issues as my husband weighs 300 lbs, me 160# and 2 dogs are 60#. Weight of box springs and mattress is a lot too so really hoping this bed is as sturdy as it seems- very heavy solid wood construction. Some beds will tell you they have capacity of 400, 575, etc lbs so you need to watch for that feature, it would be good if Intercon would put that info up front. This bed is better looking in person than pictures. The nightstands are just as sturdy and the bench too. Going to buy matching dressers. Expect this set to last many years. I did touch up a few scratches on headboard with min wax ebony touchup stick- The headboard box came with two large forklift holes, very apparent it was due to forklift but luckily the scratches were slight enough to easily cover and no way did I want to have to get another replacement!! Guessing this was another mishap in overstocks warehouse as the delivery company told me they had logged this as not their fault in case the bed itself was damaged. Anyway after a lot of elapsed time from when I paid for this on 9/12/23 to finally getting it right- I am FINALLY able to recommend this bed based on the actual quality and look of the bed itself. Lots of stress but a good ending at last!
