Not comfortable

These stools have very little padding in the seat, which makes them uncomfortable. They did not seem to be very sturdy for the price so I will be returning them.

Look and feel high quality

Overall, I'm quite pleased with these chairs. The fabric seems nice and they went together very well. The legs are my favorite part - the wood is pretty. I wish the seat was a little more padded, but I can manage. I noticed someone else commented that the chairs creak a lot, but I haven't noticed this at all. Then again, I'm on the smaller end of the size spectrum, so maybe that's why. Something to consider I guess.

Quite pleased

I haven't been overwhelmed with previous stools that I've purchased online - often, they look great, but aren't comfortable or don't feel sturdy. I was hesitant to buy any more this way, but we had more adults living at home than chairs at the counter. This meant that someone ate meals while standing and we needed more seats quickly. I decided to give these stools a chance and am very pleased with them. These are definitely the best stools that I have ever purchased online. They are reasonably comfortable. I mean, they're not "curl up with a good book and lounge all day" comfortable, but who's expecting that from a counter stool? They are comfortable enough, however, to linger after breakfast with a cup of coffee and the paper. They feel study and the swivel is smooth. The texture of the fabric isn't lush, but the color variation in the woven fabric really helps them blend with a variety of color palates and, hopefully, won't show spills very easily. I had wanted to get the blue, but it was sold out. The grey, however, is a cool grey that trends toward blue and works better in the space than I had anticipated. I've only been using them for a couple of weeks, but I'd definitely recommend them. If you do decide to purchase them, the assembly can be a bit challenging because a hole in the leg seems to be drilled at the wrong angle. If you keep all of the screws extremely(!) loose until they are all attached, you can put them together without needing to re-drill. At least, that's what my husband said when I gave up and asked him to try.

Surprisingly well made

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of these stools, made in China. Packaging was pretty good... arrived in two boxes, seats in one box, legs and footrest ring in the other. The wood finish is very good, the holes all lined up well in assembly, and it's far sturdier than I had hoped. The fabric on the seat is good and appears that it will hold up well... time will tell, of course. The seat cushion appeared to be lacking when initially unboxed, but when assembled and actually sat upon, was comfortable. The low seat back was just enough for me, and provides a cleaner look when pushed up against the counter. The Overstock price was by far the best I found anywhere on the web... and I feverishly searched. Would recommend.
