Poor Finish - Kohler needs to revisit how these tubs are packaged

This tub sucks. We received a first one severely damaged and chipped. The second one wasn’t noticed until after installation so now I’m stuck with refinishing the tub in a small area. I am a custom home builder and use a lot of Kohler products but this one sucks for lack of a better description. If you decide to buy this tub you better inspect it with a magnifying glass and take detailed photos of the entire interior before you accept delivery. I’m going to now make a warranty claim through my rep at Ferguson - not what I expect from Kohler.

Deep and Comfortable

I selected this tub in 1993 for my custom home. It is so comfortable and spacious for a nice deep soak! With the faucet installed on the side two people can both stretch out and be comfortable. I added lots of extra insulation under the tub, and it stays nice and toasty for a long soak. Very durable finish. It takes four strong people to bring up stairs, and be very careful not to bump a corner as you may chip the enamel. We had a very small ding on the very edge which was easily concealed by the tile around the tub. Highly recommended!

This tub is great, but beware it is extremely heavy. I have paid to have it delivered to the entry, but the contractor needed help to move it. The guys charged me an extra $60 do move it into the bathroom.

Great bath for 2 smaller adults!

My wife and I are two smaller people who live in a very small home. This bath was a big upgrade from the old, dingy, shallow, 4 foot tub that came with our home. We were both shower people before but we just LOVE bathing in this! The contours of the tub are very comfortable for us and the water is nice and deep.

Love the Second Tub We Received

Beautiful tub. Unfortunately, we had to return the first one due to a defect in the finish. It was a little bit of a hassle, but the replacement received was perfect.

Great design poor finish

I love this tub and have specified it many times. However, the quality control is no longer satisfactory. I receive two tubs. The first was scratched & the second had inconsistent glazing in the sides. I called about another in stock but I was told that one also had finish issues. Disappointing for such a great design

After 32 years this tub holds up!

I bought the tub in 1987 ($760) about a year after it came out. If I built a new home today it would go in the master bath again. It is well worth it even at todays price.

Most other outlets did not have this tub and those who did, their price was double or more. I wanted a 5' cast iron soaking tub for my wife's bathroom, and this is pretty much the only option unless you want to spend $5K+

Nice tub but beware the lip. It looks flat in the picture but has a raised bevel which made it unsuitable for installation in our alcove. Texture on the floor was a nice plus.

I bought this tub for a remodel thinking it was a high quality tub. I did not realize that with both ends sloping the tub would be too short to stretch out your legs. It is a very uncomfortable tub. I'm 5' 1" and can not stretch out in the tub. The next bad feature is the slope of the back which is too steep to be comfortable. My prior, less expensive Koher tub was much better.
