Outstanding coffee table! I was impressed by how heavy, solid and well-made this table is. It required some simple assembly, but once complete, it was an outstanding addition to our space. And the curve of the edge of the table makes it very comfortable for those who like to break "house rules" and put their stocking feet up on the edge of the table!
The quality is excellent. The size did not work for me. but this is a beautiful, substantial table. the finish is awesome-- I'm sure there's some type of protective wax or something, but the finish looks and feels "raw."

So frustrated by this purchase. The table is clearly unfinished with lots of rough patches and no sign of an oil finish of any kind (even a matte one). The care instructions say to wipe any spills immediately, but even the tiniest bit of condensation that falls from a glass, soaks right into the table. Zero opportunity to wipe anything. Were it oiled, it would NOT do that. I even had a carpenter take a look at it, and he sees no sign of any finish whatsoever. Customer service and the Burke warehouse has been no help, taking literal weeks to respond between emails, and in the end, despite sending multiple pictures and explaining the issues, their final response was that it is in fact finished. They even told me, "If customers want to check finish of the item can scrap the wood from surface & customer will see or feel the dry finish particles." Sorry, what??? Seriously??? I've had positive experiences with Burke in the past, but this has been a nightmare. May move on to other vendors.
LOVE this table! Super sturdy and the matte finish is gorgeous.
