Don’t let the looks fool you
Bought as an anniversary gift. Everything but the turntable worked on it. It kept skipping on my records. Customer service was helpful in getting me a refund. Didn’t attempt to get a replacement and decided to just buy a quality turntable instead of a 6-in-1 system. Something to keep In mind when buying is yes, it’s nice to have all these different features for listening to music yet, not one of those features will be quality.
Bought this for our son’s
Bought this for our son’s birthday. I chose it over other options because it had built in speakers and I like the multiple playing options. The speakers in this system are really good for a built in. I chose the gray color and it looks really nice. This is my second purchase from Victrola. Shipping is fast, arrived in about a week from ordering. I would overall highly recommend.
Record Scratching Garbage in a Pretty Package
The garbage quality stylus scratched my records. Tracking weight is not adjustable. This is not acceptable quality from a company that took over a real record player company.
Awesome Service!!!
My original unit had a recall and I contacted Victrola. What great customer service!! Followed their instructions and they shipped me this new nicer unit same day! Best customer service I have seen in a long time. Thank you all so much for such a smooth great experience!! Totally organized and on top of it! FANTASTIC SERVICE!!!
Complete Satisfaction
First of all, I love this thing. My wife and young son bought me one before the Pandemic in 2019. During the pandemic we were all sent home to work from there. The stereo was a sense of comfort during a horrible time in history. Recently, I was playing a cassette tape. For you younger people, a cassette tape is a plastic cartridge that holds music. It was the Gen X equivalent to Spotify. Anyway, I played the cassette and in the middle it stopped. I thought oh wow, my tape crapped out. It turned out that the tape player died. I was sad because I still have a bunch. I was going to repair this machine because I like it so much so I sent an email to customer service wanting to buy a deck, or possible a motherboard. They offered to replace my stereo because of the bad player. Anyway, the new unit works great and I am totally happy. The customer service of this company is amazing. I plan on buying another one and giving it as a gift this year. The stereo looks nice, sounds great, and holds memories for me. What more can I say?
Good, but Bluetooth not as expected.
The Victrola Empire 6 in 1 is very nice. Sound is much better than their small suit case models. There is no bass/treble controls, so you are stuck with mid range sound. None the less it still sounds decent for the price. The only thing I don’t like about it is it is advertised to have bluetooth, and it does. What they don’t tell you is that the bluetooth is only a receiver not a transmitter. There fore if you want to hook up external blue tooth speakers in another room in order to hear it better , you can’t. That is really the only CON that I have experienced. If you don’t have high expectations to treble and bass clarity and if you do not want to add bluetooth speakers, then this is the unit for you. Overall, I like the way it looks and it plays LP’s (Vinyls for the younger generation) CDs and Cassettes all seem to run very well. I have owned this unit about a month now. Another thing I like is the cabinet, very classic. It would have gotten 5 stars if it weren’t for the bluetooth situation.
So coooool!
Such a beautiful machine! This all started when my mother wanted to give away her old records. I couldn't bear for someone else to have them, they are so rich with history. So I needed a record player. And WOW, so amazing to find THIS with cd, cassette, Bluetooth and radio? Sure like others say the sound is a little lacking but I kind of like the charm of how there's not sooo much low end. I rearranged my whole livingroom to fit it and it's made such a difference in the space and energy. I still haven't read the manual so I need to get more familiar but already got everything working!
Excellent Convenience and Sound
We are so happy with this purchase. Easy connection to our sonos amp and speaker system = incredible sound. We love that the Victrola easily switches between favorite radio, albums, CDs and cassettes. This Gen-X couple has their music back! Christening the turntable with an original 1977 Star Wars album. We love the convenience of this unit and the lit retro tuning dial. Great job Viktrola!
Good Unit For The Price
I received a few days ago. I had a different all-in-one viny/cd/radio player from a different company, and this one compares better and worse. It had a suprisingly good speaker sound to me, but, I have to warn I mainly bought it to use the bluetooth, as I wear hearing aids and have the sound streamed directly to them. So far so good. I arm is extremely light and it is not the easiest to let it down exactly on the right point of the record, if you are doing it manually (there is an up and down control lever). One drawback is not having the ability to control tone. If you like bass..do not buy this unit, as you will be disappointed as the sound is very high treble (which, for my hearing loss, is actually a plus, as I have lost the high hearing registers). Another drawback for me was having no remote. I have to get up and manually control the selections and function. I contacted Victrola to see if there was possibility of purchasing a remote or if I could use some type of Universal remote, but they said this model is not equipped for that function. Other than that, for an insanely low price, you get a very decent functioning player. A word of caution: Read the return policy from Victrola. If you are returning simply because you do not care for it, you will have to pay your own shipping, plus there is a restocking fee, which makes the return overall not feasible. If you buy this same item from Amazon, you will get it a lot faster and also free (assuming you have prime membership), and can return free of charge for full refund. I am sure this review will get deleted by Victrola who likely do not want you to have that info.
Record Player is DEFECTIVE
DO NOT RECOMMEND. The record player is defective.
Victrola Empire - Loved at first
I love the look of this unit. The Bluetooth tape player and cd player work great. The radio picks up a lot of stations. I love the light when you turn it on. It looks very vintage. At first the record player worked great, but now it skips entire songs. Very disappointed since this was my Christmas gift along with several new records that I really can't enjoy.
Victrola Empire Record Player
Really enjoying my new Victrola Empire record player. It arrived in great condition being well packaged. The phono, CD and radio work great. Speakers are small in unit but sound great. Perfect for the room I have it in. I have not tried the cassette player as I no longer have those. Great unit at a great value.
Works well, but miss the previous model. This one is huge!
I received the 6-in-1 version to replace the previous version because it had an issue making it a fire hazard. I didn't need CD player or tape deck. I hope Victrola will bring back the simpler version of the Empire. I find the CD player and tape deck to take away from the aesthetic. It's also quite large.
Wonderful system
I've had this for about a month and it's been wonderful. great looking, build quality is solid... everything feels nice. Record player sounds really good, CD and Tape player all work as expected and also sound really nice, no complaints whatsoever. the built in speakers are what surprised me the most, for under $200 normally the built in speakers are tinny but these were a pleasent surprise, they are quite nice considering the price. they could be a little more rich and more full but again this is an under $200 unit and these are nice. I still hooked up a pair of Edifier speakers I found for a cheap price and they do add the more spacial sound but if you are in a smaller room it may not be needed. My only compaint is the the queuing lever could drop a slower, it drops faster than most but you can control it yourself. It could provide a bit mroe resistance but other than that very very happy with this sytem. It's breautiful works great and sound great.
2nd unit, still plays slow (8 seconds)
Received a replacement unit to the replacement unit from the recalled unit. Both replacement "upgraded" models (this one) play songs so much slower. 6-8 seconds slower. Every artist sounds terrible. My original unit was recalled and received this model that has more features as a replacement. First one played as mentioned 4-6 seconds slower per song. I reached out and send videos. They promptly sent a new unit within a week or so which was nice, however after carefully opening new unit and plugging in, it sounds even slower than the first leading me to believe it's a manufacturing thing than a lemon thing. The belt or speed is not correct and this makes any song sound so slow and not enjoyable at all. The unit is plugged in directly to outlet and plays songs slow on any record. I now have two of these units which play music that would only sound good on Halloween. Help.
Nice combo player!
Works great. Really like the auto-stop and start features. The cd player is a nice upgrade from the “other” record player (can’t remember model but is identical except for cd player). I also prefer the on/off switch as opposed to the on/off/volume knob. Has a great sound, consistent speed control w no warble or drag.
Save your money
I just received a replacement, free of charge, because the first Victrola Empire I received a few weeks ago skipped in the same place on every record. I was pretty excited about the replacement until I put on a brand new record, The skipping is worse than the first player. Absolutely awful. I literally stared at the needle as it skipped and there was no visible reason. The only reason I bought this was to have a nice looking all in one with a turntable that wouldn’t take up the room of my 35 year old rack system. The only reason I gave three stars is for the beautiful appearance. Performance is a zero.
It's okay
I love the way it looks, it's an absolutely beautiful design. There is one problem with this that I have though. I bought this player just a few months ago, but there's already an issue with the playing speed. I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with it, as I'm putting it on the right RPM setting, yet it plays too slow still. I'm not entirely sure how to get this fixed, so I'm a little disappointed since I did pay so much for it. Otherwise, I appreciate the range of features it has but wish I knew how to fix this issue without paying any more money.
A Quality sound system
This is quite a good looking unit, though I dont think it can be described as mahogany, since it looks nothing like the colour of my mahogany furniture, but this is not really an issue, as this only applies to the top, and is not visible from the front. The best part is the excellent sound quality, and I would have awarded 5 stars but for one thing, namely the volume control. I can set it at what is a slightly too low volume, but if I turn the dial by even the tiniest amount, to adjust it, the sound is too loud. There is nothing in between. I hasten to add that I do not think this would be an issue for a lot of people. At the raised level it is not blaring, but too loud for my sensitive hearing.
I love the appearance and retro feel of the unit. However, the speakers should be upgraded to a higher quality. Slightly "muffled" tone and very little in the treble ranges. Turntable could be upgraded to an auto return arm. Cassette player needs additional functionality such as rewind, auto-reverse, etc. Additional outputs such as more sophisticated audio out ports would be nice. I was able to hook the unit to a Bose system to upgrade the sound, but had to use an auxiliary adapter. All in all, a good unit for the price (got it on sale), but improvements could be made.
